PROFESSIONAL AUTOMOTIVE BODY TECH

Job Summary: Preparing and applying paint for overall, spot and/or repair spot vehicles. Position requires experience with both single stage and base coat/clear coat finishes. Duties include: final prep, color mixing and tinting, spray booth operations, applying primers, sealers, color and clear coats. May need to blend color into adjacent panels for a better color match to existing vehicle paint. Vehicles must be correctly prepared and refinished to insure proper adhesion, color match, and overall appearance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Removing exterior trim and hardware;
Removing layers of sub-coating;
Matching colors and mixing paints;
Preparing metal surfaces for painting by spot filling, sanding, and masking;
applying primers, primer surfacers, enamels, clearcoats and urethanes;
Cleaning and polishing painted surfaces including removing and replacing decals;
Applying anti-corrosive treatments.
Perform general housekeeping duties to ensure the work area is clean and in compliance with OSHA standards;
Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor;
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
High school diploma or GED required
Must have and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License with an excellent driving record, as determined by the company
Requires expertise with commonly used tools are sanders and spray guns.
Ability to operate computers and related software used for computerized paint color reading, generating paint formulas and tinting

Frequent standing, bending, crouching, kneeling and reaching
Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles
Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
Must be medically cleared to wear required respirator.

Body Shop Technician
Full-time, Part-time


We are looking for a skilled body shop technician to repair collision damage. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them.
An excellent technician has skill, expertise, and attention to detail. They must be comfortable working on all types of vehicles and have excellent problem-solving abilities. They must also be good communicators to collaborate with management. They must be able to perform all types of body work.

Requirements

  • Provide your own small tools, not provided by business
  • Ability to perform body repairs from start to finish
  • At least 5 years experience doing body work
  • This position may full-time or part-time depending on business needs.
